Legal Administrator - Litigation Team

Our busy Litigation Team is seeking Legal Administrator to join our firm.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our Litigation Support Manager and play a key role in supporting the Litigation Solicitors.

 

About us

The Litigation Team specialises in criminal and civil matters, employment law and dispute resolution.

 

The Role

As a Legal Administrator, you will provide vital administrative and organisational support to ensure a seamless operation of our practice. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Communicating with clients in person and on the phone.
  • Manage calendars, schedule appointments and coordinate meetings with clients, Solicitors, Courts, Police and other Government agencies.
  • Prepare legal documents.
  • Organising and maintaining client files.
  • Drafting letters and emails as required.
  • Preparing invoices and statements.

 

Requirements

Experience working within a legal practice is preferred.

  • Excellent computer, typing and formatting skills, including digital dictation transcription.
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal to interact confidently with both clients, colleagues and all stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organised.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a meticulous approach to handling sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in using computer software and advanced knowledge in Microsoft office suite.

 

This position is full time, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Legal Secretary / Legal Executive / Estates – Nicholsons Lawyers New Plymouth

A position has arisen for an experienced Legal Secretary / Legal Executive with an Estates administration background.

A unique role, this person will work alongside the Estates Manager and Partners as part of a team working with estate beneficiaries and executors to communicate expert legal advice in a supportive and understanding way.

 

Job Description

Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Estate team ensuring smooth daily operations.

Manage calendars, schedule appointments and coordinate meetings with clients and internal staff.
Prepare legal documents, including court documents, land transfer documents and all associated documentation.

Assisting in organising and maintaining client files ensuring accurate and up to date information

Collaborate closely with the Estates team to streamline processes.

Liaising with Solicitors, Courts, and other Government agencies.

Drafting letters and emails as required.

Preparing invoices and statements.

 

Requirements

Experience in Estates Administration

Detail-oriented and highly organised

Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent attention to details and a meticulous approach to handling sensitive information

Proficiency in using computer software and advanced knowledge in Microsoft office suite.

Commercial Lawyer 1-2+ years PQE

Commercial Lawyer

Nicholsons Lawyers is looking for a full-time experienced Commercial/Property Lawyer 1-2+ years PQE.

The successful applicant will be mentored by one of the Partners in the firm’s commercial division and will develop strong legal skills over a range of commercial/property matters.

Applicants would be required to work well as part of a team, show resilience while working under pressure and be able to display confidence with the firm’s clients.

 

To be seriously considered for this role, you will have:

  • A law degree from a recognized NZ university
  • A current practising certificate from the NZLS with up-to-date knowledge of NZ law and legislation
  • At least 1-2years post-graduate experience
  • The skills to communicate in both written and oral with ease and a natural style
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal abilities
  • Be able to give practical common-sense advice in all circumstances
  • Demonstrate that you can work quickly and efficiently without compromising quality

Experienced Legal Executive - Commercial/Property

We are seeking a full-time Legal Executive to join our dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with one of our experienced commercial/property Partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the commercial Partner in managing a diverse range of commercial and property transactions including, conveyancing, subdivisions, business, trust, and estate planning matters.
  • Handle subdivision files, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and regulations.
  • Conduct research, prepare legal documents and provide general support to the commercial Partner where required.

Requirements:

  • Experienced Legal Executive.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and/or knowledge of legal practice software
