Legal Executive – Nicholsons Lawyers

We are looking for a motivated and qualified Legal Executive to join our team.

The selected applicant will work closely under the mentorship of a Senior Legal Executive who has been a cornerstone of our firm for almost 10 years. This position is designed as an on-the-job training role with a clear pathway to significant professional growth, including the potential to continue the practice areas of the Senior Legal Executive upon their retirement.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with administration tasks while developing a knowledge of the files and building an enduring relationship with the clients.
• Assisting with a broad range of commercial and property matters including, conveyancing, subdivisions, business, trust, and estate planning.
• Handle subdivision files, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and regulations.
• Conduct research, prepare legal documents and provide general support to the Senior Legal Executive where required.
• Attend client meetings as required.

Requirements:

• NZ Legal Executive qualification
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and procedures
• Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and/or knowledge of legal practice software

Commercial Lawyer

Nicholsons Lawyers is looking for a full-time experienced Commercial/Property Lawyer 1-2+ years PQE.

The successful applicant will be mentored by one of the Partners in the firm’s commercial division and will develop strong legal skills over a range of commercial/property matters.

Applicants would be required to work well as part of a team, show resilience while working under pressure and be able to display confidence with the firm’s clients.

To be seriously considered for this role, you will have:

• A law degree from a recognized NZ university
• A current practising certificate from the NZLS with up-to-date knowledge of NZ law and legislation
• At least 1-2years post-graduate experience
• The skills to communicate in both written and oral with ease and a natural style
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal abilities
• Be able to give practical common-sense advice in all circumstances
• Demonstrate that you can work quickly and efficiently without compromising quality
• A passion for the legal field and a desire to continue learning and growing.
• An attitude of getting things done and recognising that client’s time and money matter

The successful applicants will be mentored by one of the Partners on a varied range of commercial/property matters and will be guided on a clear pathway toward progression over the next 2 years.

Graduates will be trained in all aspects of running a legal practice, this ensures you gain a practical understating of the firm’s business model as well as empowering you with the skills to confidently manage the day-to-day obligations of a Lawyer.

To be seriously considered for this role, you will:

• Be completing your final year of university with a strong academic transcript or
• Be undertaking your Professional Studies or
• Have recently obtained a practising certificate from the NZLS and have up-to-date knowledge of NZ law and legislation.

• A confident manner when dealing with clients and colleagues.
